Welcome to the Saltwater 5000 website.  Saltwater 5000 is an endurance run started in 2004 by two Orange County runners, Will C and Jeff P.  The run starts at the shore of the Pacific Ocean and ends at the highest point in Orange County -- the top of Saddleback Mountain. Many have asked us why we do this.  To that we say...why not? Life is a journey. Peering down from the top of a mountain 5,687' high to the ocean 32 miles away and touched just a few hours earlier gives a fresh perspective on life.

  1. Very cool idea. I grew up in HB, but wasn't much of a runner (not that I am now either). Always thought of Saddleback as an MX place; this is a better use.
